How Footium is building a sustainable future!

Before we start, an ask from us.

If you like the blog – make sure to help it out! We are now OFF Twitter (sorry, X) entirely. We are politics free here, but feel with rampant bots, fake news and an increasingly toxic culture, it is better for us mentally to stay away.

We will, however, keep blogging. So when we do, please share it with those who may be interested – across all social media – it really helps us out. You can also subscribe.

Onto the blog…

Internal transfer market is here, baby!

Just like that, another season of Footium has rolled around. Season 11 – also known as the ‘Transfer Market Era’, presents one of the biggest updates to Footium since launch, and an exciting taste of things to come.

ICYMI…

The Season 11 announcement didn’t stop there, with lots of fun things coming:

  • New Legendary Auction System!
  • Caretaker Managers are back.
  • Senegal joins the game.
  • Onboarding & growth!
  • Community meet-up.
  • Mentality balance.
  • Bug fixes & performance improvement.

Why we’re excited about it?

There’s a natural tendency to be excited about ANY announcement that comes out of a project you’re invested in.

But…we’ve all been there before with projects that sprint before they can walk, promise the world, and end up crashing and burning.

Since its inception, Footium has made a concerted effort to prioritise developments that build strong foundations and allow better onboarding of new players – whilst ensuring existing players can stick around.

This has been evidenced in concrete stability testing before launch, making sure to not oversaturate the market with clubs and making the site easier to navigate, stable rewards structures, integrating with socials and many more.

With each new development, we move closer to a place where Footium is easy to access, self sustaining, and future proof.

Transfer Market, Caretakers & Going for Growth!

Going for Growth – no, it’s not a Government budget announcement, but it is an inevitable part of Footium’s future.

To give an idea of the scale of Footium’s potential market:

  • Football Manager 24 sold 14 million copies.
  • EA Sports FC generated nearly $3 billion dollars in the last financial year.
  • 290 Million online bets are placed monthly in the UK.
  • Fantasy Premier League has around 12 million players.

We are a planet that loves football, gaming, gambling & strategising. Footium taps into all of these in a very unique way. You own your club, players, badge, stadium & more, and can earn from them.

Preparing for growth is key, and it’s exciting that the growth will come.

One key way of getting that growth, is allowing players to try before you buy. That’s where Caretaker Managers come in.

For those who’ve been around the NFT & Crypto world, getting into Footium may have proved easy – but to attract a casual audience it has to be easy to get into. Not everyone will want to spend upwards of $100 to get into something that may seem complicated on the surface.

It’s safe to say Caretaker Managers have been a massive success, with over 130 taking part and real rewards being distributed to the best performers. Winning a free club & players for winning the Caretaker League is a very juicy prize. It’s really exciting to see Footium bringing on new players like this.

And finally…the internal transfer market. The juicy one!

Generally, when we want to use a platform, we want everything to be ON that platform. Log into any other app, and you can stay in that app in perpetuity, getting what you need to done. However, with the separate transfer market, as well as things such as metamask approvals (very happy these were removed for many things), you were having to dip out of Footium to get things done within Footium! And once you’ve clicked off, you can very easily stay off and get distracted.

That’s why the transfer market is so exciting! It keeps Footium Players within Footium, and allows a more seamless look at what the transfer market is doing, as well as speeding up the ability to sell & sign players.

Committing to changes like this – rather than things that may be flashier on the surface but not boost longevity – is such a welcome sign that Footium are doing the right things for the right reasons.

I look forward to buying soon!

See you all on the pitch.

Welcome To Not A Footium Blog

In 2022, I stumbled across an as yet un-released NFT project called Footium. What became a speculative purchase from some Zed Run winnings became a curiosity, then a passion, and now an obsession.

This blog will follow my Footium journey, dive into some of the topics of the game, and hopefully have some fun along the way!
